sonic choir of love
Sonic Choir of Love is not a choir. The orchestra is created and led by Danish bassist Samuel Kiel, and the band name hails the nature of singing. It presumes that singning is more than making sounds with your voice, but rather a way of existing in music. The singing is a central feature in Kiel's music which can be heard on heart wrenching tracks such as 'Time' from their recent self-titled release. One immediately gets a sense of Kiel's delicate sensitivity for composition and arrangement. The seamless mixture of DIY dreamjazz in a groovy outfit, reveals an almost chant-like sound that bears the unique imprint of a sonic choir in love. The band consists of a string of young musicians, each one on their way to make a name on the European jazz scene:
Ketija Ringa Karahona (flute)
Micheal Murray (alto sax)
Miguel Valente (alto sax)
AdrĂan Bifano (guitar)
Francisco Garrido (guitar)
Heehyun Lee (guitar)
Ludvig Søndergaard (drums)
Samuel Kiel (double bass, compositions, arranging, leader)
